How do I become a member of the MMPAC?
The MMPAC represents the interests of the over 100,000 citizens in the State of Maine who hold a motorcycle endorsement and the over 50,000 registered motorcycles. The MMPAC is open to anyone with an interest in the rights of motorcycling.
Is there a cost to being a member?
There is no cost to belong to the MMPAC.
How does the MMPAC raise funds to operate?
The MMPAC was originally founded as a Legislative branch from the United Bikers of Maine to comply with Federal guidelines in 1997. The majority of the PAC's funds have come from a dues check off box on the UBM membership form.
What's the difference between the MMPAC and UBM?
The MMPAC is a single focus group involved with Legislative issues.
Do I have to be a UBM member to belong to the MMPAC?
Membership in any group is not necessary to belong to the MMPAC.
How would I find out about bills that affect motorcyclists?
Visit Maine.gov's Advance Notice of Public Hearing and click on "Bill Status Search". From here you can research any bills by subject, sponsor, committee, number, etc. Once you find the bill you are looking for, go to that bill and its status, sponsors, amendments, etc., can be viewed. If you would like to receive advance notice of when your bill will be heard, sign up for the Advance Notice of Public Hearings (ANPH). This will be sent to your e-mail address and will give approximately a two-week advance notice of action on a bill in Committee.
